2nd Annual Poar Bear Plunge

Well, today was out second annual Polar Bear plunge. And it was held rain or shine, and we thought we were going to have more rain then shine, but it worked the other way. I of course was up and at the store by 6 am, just getting our usual groceries and the rest of the stuff for the egg dish I was taking. Then off to home again to get the family ready to go and cook the dish.

We got there just in time to do the first splash!!! Of course it was mostly kids that jumped in first, they are always willing to go swimming.

We did have some adults, that are kids at heart, that braved the cold pool
and weather and joined the kids. Mike Ducker came out and put his wet suit on to keep him warmer in the pool.

All the kids were going back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. Mike the brought out his snorkel gear and let the kids give it a try to see how it is to be able to breath under water. Wow they had a great time at that.
There was all our friends there, we did miss several others that could not make it. People brought great food and a great time was had by all, the jumpers and the watchers. We had a warm fireplace to warm up to and talk around while watching those crazy people in and out of the pool they went.

Alvina Phillips puts on great activities and here are the awards that were given out, some caught the glare of the flash so pardon the camera skills. We had a fashionable men's dive winner - Jon Kennedy, a fashionable women's dive winner - Rose Chidister, and a fashionable kids dive winner - Torin Ducker. They all got their own personalized Wheaties box. Congratulations to all, you are the brave ones!!

New Year - New Things

Well, it is 2009 and this is the first time for a post. Things are crazy around the Brown house as I am sure they are around yours. The girls are settling down back at school, just in time for a 3 day weekend. Rusty is back at work and oh boy is he. As for me, well I am just a little crazy. I just told the Principal of the school that I would be happy to do Lunch duty for him. Yes, at least I will be paid. I am also putting together organizers for my mothers CPA firm and still volunteering a hole lot at school. Oh, that does not count the Stake Primary and Cubs that I am in charge of and the Trek meeting that I happily get to attend because we were asked to be Ma and Pa for the 2009 Trek. Oh and the house work, and the getting gas, and grocery shopping, I guess I do not need to go on, you are all like me also!!!! So I will do my best to get the pictures and post up tp date.

We are happy that we have a roof over our heads and that we have such a loving family in and out of the church. Thank you to all of you that support us.
